Registration Fee:  $40 per person pre-registration (before April 15^th)

                              $50 after April 15th

$10 of registration fee goes toward Big Fish Pay Out.

1^st – 50%      2^nd – 30%       3^rd – 20%

Vehicle and launch fees will be collected the day of the event.  Annual passes will be honored.

In consideration of permitting me to enter this event, I personally & on behalf of my Heirs, Successors, Servants, Assigns, Executors, Administrators, Guardians, Conservators, herby release, discharge, cancel, waive, covenant not to sue, acquit,, and hold harmless Castaic Lake, Friends of Castaic Lake, County of Los Angeles, and State of California & their partners, employees, officials, volunteers, successors, shareholders, directors, officers, representatives, attorneys, & assigns collectively (State of California, Friends of Castaic Lake & County of Los Angeles) & agree to hold them free & harmless for, from, against any and all claims, judgments, appeals, rights, demands, costs,  liabilities, obligations, actions & causes of actions of any character whatsoever, whether known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, arising from negligence or otherwise, including but not limited to, all liabilities for personal injury, property damage or wrongful death caused by such negligence.  I also agree to indemnify, including reasonable attorney’s fees, resulting from any claim  made by me or my agent’s or successor’s interests.  I have read & understand this release of the potential dangers incidental to engaging in such activity & I understand the legal consequences of signing this release form.

Float Tube Derby Tournament Rules

1.            Entry fee paid by April 15^th deadline will be $40.  $50 if paid on the day of the event.  No Credit Cards will be accepted.

2.            Requests for refunds must be made by April 16, 2008.  A $10 processing fee will apply.

3.            An air horn will signal the start of the derby.

4.            No contestants allowed on the water until the horn signals the start of the event.

5.            All fish must be hooked before the air horn sounds to qualify for prizes.

6.            You may cast over buoy lines at both ends of the lagoon but no tubes or kickboats may enter those areas.

7.            Any off limit areas will be noted at the pre-tournament meeting.

8.            No assistance or advice will be offered by staff boaters, other than the weighing and recording of fish.

9.            Only fish recorded will be Largemouth bass.

10.        Fishing from float tubes and kickboats only will be allowed.  No homemade float tubes or kickboats permitted.

11.        All tubes and kickboats must have at least 12 square inches of international orange or yellow.

12.        All tubes and kickboats must be properly inflated.

13.        Only one angler per tube or kickboat permitted.

14.        Each angler must have a U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device in their possession.

15.        All California Fish and Game regulations apply and will be enforced. (5 Fish, 13”)

16.        This is catch and release only.  All fish will be weighed by staff boaters and immediately released.

17.        Each angler must wear sealed waders.

18.        There will be .2 lb deduction for any dead fish.

19.        Prizes will be based on total weight, five fish limit.

20.        Each angler will receive a numbered tag which will be worn on their person, or their fish will not count.

21.        No live bait allowed.

22.        No motors or oars allowed.   This is a leg powered event.

23.        Persons under the age of 18 need Parent and/or Guardian consent on the entry form. 

24.        Any safety violations will disqualify you from the derby.

25.        All California boating laws and Castaic Lake regulations will be strictly enforced.

26.        No alcohol allowed.
