Our Mission

About Us

Several State, National and World record fish were caught a Castaic Lake. Castaic Lake is the largest state water project reservoir in Southern California, and contains over 11,200 total acres of parkland and open space habitat.

Park gates are open from sunrise to sunset, and admission to the park ends an hour before closing. The Park is open every day of the year, except December 25th (Christmas Day). Park activities include boating, world class fishing, hiking, walking, horseback riding, wakeboarding, jet-skiing, camping, picnicking, kayaking, sailing, plus simply enjoying nature and the great outdoors.

Life Guard

The L.A. County Lifeguards maintain operation of lake facilities and launch ramps, and are consistently trained both physically and mentally to ensure a safe environment for recreation. To handle emergency situations, their certifications include CPR, First-Aid, Lifeguarding, Emergency Medical Tech, Defibrillation as well as Masters' Certificates in Rescue Boat Operations.

Boat Launch Conditions

Please be aware that boat launching may or may not be allowed depending on weather conditions at any given time. Lifeguards continuously evaluate weather conditions to ensure that a safe and enjoyable experience can be had. Often, strong winds, (usually 25 mph or more) especially out of the North West, can adversely affect launch conditions..
