Who are the Friends of Castaic Lake
The Friends of Castaic Lake (FOCL) are a group of dedicated volunteers who continue to make a positive impact on the Castaic Lake Recreation Area. Formed in 1983 as a nonprofit group with the mission to support and enhance the operation of the County of Los Angeles' largest regional park, the FOCL conduct fundraisers and special events to support park programs and projects.
The Friends of Castaic Lake have helped fund and volunteer for many special events, including:

the "4th of July Fireworks Spectacular"
- "Fishin' and Fun for Kids" day
- C.A.S.T. - Casting a Special Thrill" event for disabled children

the December "Winter Magic - Lighted Boat Parade".
The Friends meet at the BISC Building, on the 3rd Tuesday of every month (Except December). If you are interested in getting involved, attend a meeting, or for more information, please contact the park office at (661) 257-4050.

Float Tube Derby - April 13, 2013
The first round of the three-round Friends of Castaic Lake Float Tube Tournament went off this past Saturday, April 13th at historic Castaic Lake in Castaic, California. <Read Story>
Float Tube Derby - June 2, 2012
A group of 24 tubers gathered on this day at Castaic's famed lower lake to compete in the 2nd of two Friends of Castaic Lake float tube derbies. Weather was cool in the morning and warmed to 80 degrees by the 1pm weigh in time. Go to Photo Gallery for Full Story and Pictures
Float Tube Derby - April 14, 2012
A group of 25 tubers gathered on this day at Castaic's famed lower lake to compete in the first of two Friends of Castaic Lake float tube derbies. Weather was cold and cloudy until about 11:30 am, at which point the wind came up and brought with it two foot whitecaps almost instantly. Go to Photo Gallery for Full Story and Pictures
