Run by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, Castaic Lake is a beautiful state water reservoir located just north of Santa Clarita on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
Along with providing fresh water to local communities, Castaic Lake has also remained dedicated to providing the public with a wonderful place to have fun! New Black Bass Limits, March 1, 2015
Effective March 1, 2015 the new legal black bass limit will be 5 fish at 15 inches for Castaic Lake. These regulations can be found in Title 14, California Code of Regulations, section 5.00. Use this link to www.wildlife.ca.gov/Regulations page.
Lagoon launch ramp closed for launching trailered boats
As of June 28, 2015 the lagoon launch ramp is closed for launching trailered boats over 10 feet in length. The launch ramp remains open for any boat that can be launched by hand. Trailer tires may not back off the end of the launch ramp while launching or retrieving.
The Lower Lake Swim Beach will be open this Summer, starting Sat. June 13th.
Starting Sat. June 13th, the "Lower Lake Swim Beach will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 10 am to 5pm

Receding water levels due to the drought are creating hazards and extremely muddy shorelines that are limited and difficult to access. Please exercise due caution when operating your vessel and while attempting to access the shoreline by foot.
Parks hours for the next few weeks are:
Newest Stocking 5/4/15.
Do Not Run Water through your engine / motor before coming to the lake. If it is not 100% dry your boat will fail the inspection and not be allowed to launch for 7 days.
